As I'm getting ready to move, I've uncovered lots of books to get rid of. Because I can't stomach throwing books away, I'm trying my best to find them new homes, but I've found the process surprisingly slow and difficult (especially for books that used to be popular).
When I take a bag of books to a used book store, typically they're only interested in buying a few of them. So, with limited time left, I've started offering to give the remaining books away for free, but the storekeepers have politely declined.
This has been a good reminder to limit the number of books I buy. Unless I'm willing to ship them, I'm better off using the library. It's easier dealing with the hassle of putting books on reserve, than rushing to get rid of all of them at once.
