Currently, Netflix streaming is designed more for individual consumption than for couples and groups. Despite the overwhelming amount of content available, there aren't always good choices. For example, it's hard to find good date night movies. Early on, romantic comedies seem like a good idea, but they quickly get repetitive, since they follow the same plot.
I’m surprised that Netflix hasn’t created curated collections for this in the same way that Spotify has created playlists based on moods.
It kills the mood when it’s hard to agree on a movie after dinner that keeps things feeling romantic, but not over the top. Because suggestions are geared towards just my tastes, most of the movies that show up are less than ideal. It’d be great if they could take two or more view histories when making suggestions for things to watch.
