In case you haven't heard, the weather is supposed to be particularly odd this year with El Niño and the Blob facing off.
This battle in nature may mean that "winter is cancelled" in some parts of the world, while it will be more extreme in others. Places like Peru are expecting abnormal downpours. And the situation is leading to record algae that are laced with toxins and spreading in the North Pacific.
Having already suffered the record-breaking winter in Boston last year, I hope it doesn't get more extreme.
Many speculate that the drought in Northern California will continue, while rainfall will end up in Southern California. This is particularly concerning given the current forest fires up north.
This makes me wonder whether climate change is more about the state of the ocean instead of the atmosphere above us.
