When people bring GoPro's with them to tourist attractions, what do they plan on doing with the footage? Are they actually going to scrub through it to find pictures that they might want to frame? Or are they using these videos as a crutch to allow them to feel better about being less mentally engaged, since they have the ability to relive their visit?
People seem to spend more time experiencing their visits through the small LCD screens on their cameras than by looking at them in person. Unless you're in the frame, this feels wasteful since your pictures are unlikely to be better than the professional shots available online.
While I'm certainly guilty of it, I don't understand the mindset of "I don't know what I'm going to do with it, but I may as well take a picture."
