I wish more restaurants would show how long you should expect to wait for your food to be ready. In addition to improving the customer experience, this preempts predictable questions that slow down the ordering process. For breakfast places, wait times can be as important as important as price, especially when I'm running late. And for dinner places, I like to avoid being the person's whose food takes longer than everyone else's to come out.
Since increasing throughput is good business, I'm surprised that I've never seen anything like this before. But, hopefully it will catch on quickly, given how easy it is to implement. With many restaurants transitioning to displaying their menus on LCD display, wait times can be dynamically updated to reflect when batches will be hot out of the oven and when juices will finish being squeezed.
