Sometimes the questions people me ask about technology seem so outlandish that it's hard for me to tell whether I'm being trolled. For example, when someone says, "I'm pushing the button and nothing's happening," my first reaction is to assume that I'm being made fun of. But, my parents are usually serious and just forgot to check whether their phones are turned on.
Each of these episodes would make for a good comic strip that'd help illustrate our technological literacy gap, while simultaneously providing tutorials for those who feel challenged by basic tasks. Starting a regular comic strip would be a great excuse for me to learn how to draw and would make answering these questions into an experience that's productive for everyone.
I'm hopeful that holding "office hours" would provide enough material to keep me going. Let's find out.
