A good way to know whether a property is well kept is to look at the bathrooms. Bathrooms are often neglected because they're not the focal points of a home or an office. As a result, people often focus on renovating the more trafficked areas first. Because bathrooms get so much ware and tare, it's easy for them to fall into disrepair. So, if the tiling and toilets look clean and relatively new, that's a good sign that the owner has been taking care of necessary upkeep.
When considering a job, see whether your employer provides single or double ply toilet paper. While being a small detail, it shows how much the business values employee comfort. On a scale from dirty public bathroom to luxury amenities, where would you put the bathroom? And is that consistent with what you want?
