3D art exhibits

Walking among hanging LEDs in a dark room with mirrors on every wall was a powerful immersive experience. As the lights changed around me to the rhythm of the music, it felt like I was flying through the cosmos. While the resolution was much lower than virtual reality headsets, for me, this simple setup provided a more convincing (albeit abstract) escape from reality.

Being able to turn my head unencumbered in any direction and see the lights repeat forever without any lag made a big difference. When I closed my eyes to the point that everything was slightly blurry, my mind was willing to be convinced that I was traveling through space. Surprisingly, it felt more like I was on the Magic School Bus than that I was dreaming. Hopefully more artists will start experimenting with this type of exhibit.
