Standing up when the plane lands
Why do people stand up so quickly when planes lands? Before the doors open there is nowhere to go. There isn't even room to remove bags from the overhead compartments. Even if you're running late to catch a connecting flight, standing in the aisle isn't going to help you get to your gate any faster if the people in front of you haven't deplaned.
As someone that prefers sitting in window seats, I'm used to waiting until the people in front of me have left. I take this time to call/text the people that I've landed. The only times I'm tempted to stand in these situations is after transpacific flights when I haven't been able to stretch my legs.
If you really care about this, pay to be seated closer to the front of the plane. Otherwise, just sit tight.
