Investing in ergonomic tools
When you use tools everyday, it makes sense to invest in ones that work. This may sound obvious, but a surprising number of people use awkward computer keyboards or sit on uncomfortable chairs for the majority of their waking hours. Using the right tools helps to prevent things like repetitive strain injury and helps to improve efficiency, which allows me to get more done.
While people typically know this is true in theory, in practice, they shy away from buying the right tools because they're more expensive. I'm the same way. I suffer from a lot of mental resistance when I try to convince myself to replace things that already work. But, interestingly I never regret making these purchases. So, I'm curious why I continue to hesitate when I know that I'll end up appreciating that I've made these investments.
