Evaluation meetings by the numbers
If you're being evaluated, keep things efficient by showing that you've hit your numbers. Because objective data is harder to dispute, you're less likely to be subject to the whims of how people are feeling at that moment due to outside circumstance. So, you're more likely to get a predictable positive outcome.
Despite most people claiming that they aim to be concise when presenting during these meetings, people often fall back on long boring powerpoint presentations. At the end of the day, the people evaluating you are likely just trying to answer a few key questions. So, start by answering the questions you know they need to ask (i.e. whether you've hit your numbers). Then, prepare materials that will help answer other questions they may have, but transition the meeting to a conversation where decision makers can ask you questions.
