Don't tell people how to do things
It's often hard for managers to resist the temptation to make people do things they way they would have. Unfortunately, even when well-intentioned, micromanagement is suffocating and limits a team's ability. By giving people space to make decisions on their own after a task has been delegated, managers demonstrate trust in their team and create opportunities for them to exceed expectations.
Never tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do and they will surprise you with their ingenuity.
The best way to get results is to provide your team with context for the definition of success. Then, as long as you've surrounded yourself with driven people with the necessary competencies, give them space to think creatively.
To keep things in perspective, think about whether particular decisions will matter if the team is ultimately successful.
